Andrew Gn, for his part, paid a tribute to the so-called “Incroyables et Merveilleuses,” a group of fashionable aristocrats who stupefied Paris with their eccentric styles during the French Directoire period, therewith bringing some joie de vivre back to the City of Light which had previously suffered due to the Revolution. This influence translated into all sorts of punk infused evening attire, with a particular focus on lace work. In this context, lace came either as sumptuous detail – such as guipure appliqué on a bishop sleeved blouse that was paired with a rivet embellished denim skirt – or as a full patchwork look with a lace sweater and tango skirt that were accessories with studded heels and choker necklaces. Floral motifs were also predominant and the show ended on a sleeveless pink tulle dress with flower sprays which was worn with a corsage.
